Conflict Management Skills Coaching

A Daily Tool of Leadership and Influence

Pre-Course Module

Complete a PAPI assessment, either Individual or Team Role to establish likely intra- and inter-personal dynamics at play, and provide a draft on likely or indicative responses to environmental situations.

During the course a feedback session will be arranged to work with the individual feedback dynamics, or provide a common view on the Team Role Dynamics, to assist the team to enable their strengths and risks as a work group.

Module One

• Understand the nature of conflict
• Gain awareness of personal style for managing conflict

Module Two

• Establish open lines of communication
• Actively listen when others are emotional
• Assertively communicate requests, views, recommendations, concerns
• Practice non-defensive communication

Module Three

• Develop a way to think out of the box
• Develop and practice skills in leading problem resolution as a third party
• Develop sound influencing skills
• Solve a complex conflict situation using the skills developed in the three modules.

Post-Course Review

After the program, the delegates are given the opportunity to test their new skills in a practical work environment, and face a peer review or a personal feedback session with one of our contracted organisational or counseling psychologists.

Coaching Support

It is recognized that developing personal methodologies to deal with the cut and thrust of daily interpersonal dynamics is not honed on a course! Delegates need to be aware that they will return to the real world with conscious competence, a knowledge of what to do , but a foreboding sense of artificiality in implementation.

Our Coaching team can, on request of the client, either provide a facilitative follow-up environment to allow the delegates to share their experiences of transition from conscious competence to unconscious competence (when the habit kicks in!), or provide a short period of direct coaching of the delegates to assist them through this transition.
